oh it SO is. I'm right there with you... well, not literally there, which is why I kissed a map of Portland the other day.
i read an excellent bit on portland in robert putnam's "better together." he discussed many things that make portland great. on the whole, portlanders read a third more than the nation. they are much more socially aware and active.
and... they are lucky enough to be in one of those sexy blue states. mmmm boy.
