I love yogurt. My mom likes to say I would have starved as a child without Dannon strawberry yogurt. As I've gotten older, my yogurt preferences have changed. Spending 18 months on Europe will do that to you. Also, I have tried to cut out high fructose corn syrup as much as possible. And since I eat yogurt almost everyday, it was a big culprit. My search has led to this:
Rachel's Wickedly Delicious All Natural, Low Fat Yogurt. That's quite the name to give yourself but I have to say, it lives up to it. The yogurt is smooth, creamy, not too sweet, and comes in amazing flavors. Right now I'm eating the Orange Strawberry Mango. Yesterday it was Mango, Pineapple Passion Fruit, and tomorrow it will be the Cherry Black Currant. Looking forward to trying to others. Here's a list of all the flavors:
Orange Strawberry Mango
Pomegranate Blueberry
Mango Pineapple Passion Fruit
Kiwi Passion Fruit Lime
Cherry Black Currant
Marionberry Guava
Pomegranate Açai
Peach Green Tea
Berry Jasmine
Vanilla Chai
Plum Honey Lavender
Pink Grapefruit Lychee

I hate to burst your bubble, and I am sure for America, it is amazing. But, my heart yearns monthly for Laitiere, a french yogurt (they have entire aisles just for all the yogurt!!!) that will change your life.
Sigh, I wish I had some now.
I'm completely willing to concede that France has much better yogurt. I'll just say this is the best yogurt in the US. After living in France for 18 months, I am always on the lookout for anything close. And I guess that's what I like about this, it's not very sweet, which is also true of French yogurt. Yoplait is WAY too sweet. I also like Breyer's yogurt. Again, not really comparable to French (or Greek) yogurt but still better than standard American brands. And the weirdest part, Dannon is actually a French company.
Wow we really are two peas...this is my favorite yogurt in the whole world! The Vanilla Chai and Pomegranate Acai is my favorite!
Yum! Thanks for the tip. It's on my grocery list for next shopping trip.
Ansley: Thanks for leaving a comment on my blog. It was so much fun to look through your blog. It looks like you are back in Oregon and doing good. It will be great to stay in touch this way. If you ever need a place to stay in Germany, please come our way.
Thanks for the tip -- I love yogurt! I wonder if Rachel's is sold anywhere by me?
My sister was raving about some plain Greek yogurt she found the other day, and I think she said it was at Target. Is that possible?? I also love Brown Cow cream top, but I only let myself get it if I've done something really great (like singlehandedly ending all war) because it has enough fat and calories to power James Brown's hips for a year.
On the topic of creamy dairy products, I'm also having a craving for Mazza's labneh. Oooooh, baby. I think you just ruined my diet, Ansley.
