Vive la France!

Yesterday was Bastille Day. I was lucky enough to live in France about 10 years ago. So I got mes amis together and went to Le Happy. What better way to celebrate the revolution than eating delicious crêpes and enjoying the disco ball. I had the salad crêpe but switched out the gorgonzola for some chèvre. It was, quite possibly, the best crêpe I've ever had. And then I had the strawberry and nutella crêpe too. We all had at least a salé (savory) and a sucré (sweet) crêpe. Afterwards, I was reminded of this saying:
J'ai bien mangé, j'ai bien bu, j'ai la peau du ventre bien tendue (It's better said out loud, it rhymes. Literally: I ate well, I drank well, the skin on my stomach is well-stretched)

Can you tell I'm excited I just learned how to do accents on my keyboard?!

Thanks for the idea! It was fun. Now, teach me the accents!

P.S. I am going to try that crepe now.

P.S.S. I just got my haircut and it feels soooo much better!

Hey, It's Ansley said...

Chelsea - I used these instructions for the accents. Can't wait to see the haircut!

Mrs French - I know you have a little one so maybe you don't have many late nights but it's always nice to know a few good places that are open late. Le Happy is open till 2am.

I feel silly that I lived in Portland for 8 years and did not know about any of these restaurants that you always make me want to fly home and eat at. Now I have things to look forward to when we move back home.

I'm so happy that I have a friend who knows when Bastille Day is so that we can celebrate it! Crepes are yum.

I love Le Happy! One of my favorite spots. Thanks for the tips on accents for the computer. My husband set up one of the computers on a Canadian setting once [ and didn't tell me} and every time I tried to use something really common {like quotation marks} I would instead have an accent ague.
